Senior Accountant - AP-Focused | Hybrid (Carlsbad) | Temp 3-4 Months
We are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong Accounts Payable and month-end close experience to support a large, established accounting team during a transition period. This temporary role focuses heavily on AP, reconciliations, year-end reporting (1098/1099s), and GL support.
Assignment Details
- Location: Carlsbad, CA
- Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 remote (flexible days)
- Duration: 3-4 months with possible extension
- Pay: $42-$49/hr DOE
- Start: ASAP (standard background, drug, and credit screening required)
Key Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Payable processing, vendor-related tasks, and issue resolution
- Assist with year-end reporting, including 1098s and 1099s
- Prepare and review month-end reconciliations and journal entries
- Provide General Ledger support as needed during close cycles
- Partner with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate transactional accounting
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with SOP updates
- Contribute to audit preparation and financial statement support activities
Required Experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong AP background
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal oversight
- Experience in mid-to-large corporate environments
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Workday and/or BlackLine ERP experience
- Experience documenting or improving accounting processes
- Exposure to auditing or financial statement support
